Vishal shows evidence against Sarath Kumar

Chennai: A day after incumbent president of Nadigar Sangam R Sarath Kumar filed criminal/defamation case against Vishal for making 'baseless charges' against him, Vishal chose to produce some papers to substantiate his allegations today.

Addressing mediapersons in Madurai, Vishal said, "My charges were against Sarath Kumar's capacity as Nadigar Sangam president," he said, and added, "The Madras High Court in a petition filed by Poochi Murugan seeking stay on construction of building at Nadigar Sangam premises had observed that all is not well. I just recalled the same."

Producing a copy of the court observation, he said, "I did not make any personal comments against Sarath Kumar. I reiterate that there is no personal enmity against him."

Vishal also produced a reply obtained through RTI and said it was very clear from the response that Nadigar Sangam had not filed any tax returns for the last few years and only submitted statements.

He said the welfare of drama artistes would be ensured if the 'Pandavar Ani' was voted to power.

It may be recalled that Sarath Kumar had said yesterday, "In the run-up to the Nadigar Sangam polls, Vishal has been badmouthing me and, hence, I chose to file cases against him. I approached the court to seek criminal action against him."

The 18 October polls to the Nadigar Sangam will witness a direct battle between Team Sarath Kumar  and Team Vishal. Both are involved in intensive campaigning to woo the support of 3,139 members.
