Ilayaraja to organise MSV music show

Tuesday, 21 July 2015

Chennai: Music maestro Ilayaraja will pay a musical tribute to legendary composer M S Viswanathan who passed away last week.

‘Elder brother Viswanathan’s musical skills and command are well-known. None other than me is aware of the finer nuances of his music and to highlight this, I will play with a small orchestra on July 27,’ the music composer said.

‘Viswanathan, fondly addressed as MSV, may have died but his legend lives on,’ Ilayaraja said in a statement.

The musical event is being orgainsed by Jeeva-Ilayaraja Educational Trust.

A composer with over 1,200 films in his kitty, 88-year-old Viswanathan breathed his last on 14 July. He had worked with Ilayaraja in a couple of movies.
