Thursday, 22 December 2016

A leading exponent of Mohiniattam, Dr Rekha Raju, received the prestigious Krishna Gana Sabha endowment award from Dr Padma Subrahmanyam and Nalli Kuppaswamy Chetti recently. The event was organised by Krishna Gana Sabha.

Dr Rekha Raju bagged the award for her invaluable contribution to Mohiniattam. It is for the first time a young Mohiniattam exponent is felicitated by the Krishna Gana Sabha. The audience consisted of many veterans in the field of dance and music.

"It’s indeed an honour to receive an award from a premier arts organisation like Krishna Gana Sabha that supports and promotes our arts and to receive the same from the hands of Dr Padma Subrahmanyam is a blessing," said the Bengaluru-based dancer after receiving the award.
