Rowdy hacked to death at Aminjikarai

Chennai: A man was found hacked to death at Aminjikarai here this morning. The deceased is said to have worked as a police informer.

According to the police, the man was identified as Deepak Raj (30) of  Vanagaram. He lived with his partner and two children at M M Garden. The police said, Deepak, is a 'C' category rowdy who has an attempt to murder and other criminal cases filed against him.

He used to rob gadgets and vehicles. Deepak also worked as an auto driver for a living. The police said, Deepak was habitual of sleeping on top of a public toilet at Third Avenue in Aminijikarai during night, usually in a drunk condition.

Early this morning, at around 3 am, three masked men hacked him to death. He sustained injuries on his head and neck. He was found dead in a pool of blood, the police said, who sent his body to Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital.

It is learnt that Deepak was also an informer of the police and it is suspected that his friend to have carried out the murder.  Previous enmity is alleged to be a reason behind the killing.
