Leaders of alliance partners who held talks with Jayalalithaa recently did not figure in the list. They are Dr Sethuraman of Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam, Velmurugan of Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi, John Pandian of Tamizhaga Munnetra Kazhagam, Sridhar Vandaiyar of Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam and P V Kathiravan of All India Forward Bloc.

Of the 150 MLAs it boasted of in the present Assembly, Jaylalithaa is fielding only 22 as candidates for the 16 May elections.

The AIADMK has fielded 31 women candidates including Jayalalithaa. This is for the first time Jayalalithaa is contesting in a Chennai constituency in general elections.
