AIADMK to receive forms for three more days

Chennai: AIADMK general secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today said the deadline to file application forms to contest in the Assembly elections on her party ticket has been extended to three more days.

In a statement here, she said MLA aspirants of the AIADMK can now submit forms at the party headquarters till 5 am on 6 February. She said the extension has been made following requests from party workers.

A festive atmosphere prevails at the ruling party's headquarters on Avvai Shanmugam Salai in Royapettah here as hundreds of party ticket aspirants for the coming Assembly elections had converged to purchase the application forms since day one. The AIADMK is the first party to issue application forms for the Assembly elections.
